When times are feeling tough, I like to identify areas that I can go to for inspiration, creativity, ideas, and — I’ll be honest — a bit of distraction. Here are some of the places that I’m finding inspiration most recently:
The Becki and Chris YouTube channel: I stumbled across this channel when I was researching how to launch my workflow YouTube channel and I was so impressed. The channel is hosted by a couple that does DIY, behind-the-scenes tutorials on things like creating YouTube sets (how I originally found them), and their helicopter trips into the wilderness. I haven’t deeply explored all of their videos yet, but the combination of style and storytelling has been really amazing so far.
Daily Creative by Todd Henry: I added this book to my 25 books to read in 2025 list because I read a bunch of Todd Henry’s other books on creativity and loved them. This one is also such a helpful guide for how to nurture creativity as a daily practice. I love that I can dip in and out of the essays and that there is always a reflective prompt or suggestion for application of each idea that he presents.
Becs Gentry on Peloton: As part of my commitment to my 2025 side quest of running, I started a 5k plan on Peloton. Basically, this plan is a mix of 4 different workouts each week with four different instructors and they all build up to helping you run a faster 5k. One of the instructors in this series is Becs Gentry, who is a perfect mix of motivation, storytelling, and humility. I love her style of instruction and will definitely be seeking out more courses from her in the future.
The Kinfolk Entrepreneur: I stumbled across this book online and ordered a copy from my local library. Kinfolk makes a beautiful set of coffee table books that are a combination of images and story. In this particular book, they highlight 40 creative entrepreneurs and include pictures of their workspaces alongside their stories. I love dipping in and out of the collection and plan to invest in purchasing a copy for my personal library.
