My November To-Do List

by | Oct 29, 2022

A couple years back, I began writing monthly to-do lists to help me keep track of what’s on my plate. I share these lists here, and report back each month on what I was able to accomplish.

My October list focused on easing further into the fall season with some themed reading and some fall conference events. Here’s what I was able to get done in the last month:

  • Read seasonal books. I chose a bunch of spooky books to read for October and they were so fun to read throughout the month. (I posted my October TBR list on my YouTube channel if you want to see if there are any books that look interesting.)
  • Started the revisions for my book project. My co-author and I have made a lot of notes based on the reviewer feedback for the second edition of The Blended Course Design Workbook. I’ve got all the notes organized in Asana and have also gotten some other co-authors signed on for their pieces. Onward!
  • Started narrowing in on end-of-year goals. Now that we’re officially in the last quarter of the year, I reviewed my annual goals and made a plan for how I can achieve the ones that are remaining. Stay tuned for an upcoming blog post on the goals I want to complete before we launch into 2023.
  • Attended two local conferences. There were a couple conferences hosted by national organizations (WCET and EDUCAUSE) that were in Denver this year and I attended them over a couple of weeks at the end of October. I presented at both and also (re)connected with some dear friends and colleagues at each event.

October was a very fast month since I had a lot of different projects and tasks on my plate. And now it’s time to plan for a new month of to-do items! I’m ready to launch into November and see what the rest of this fall season holds.

Here are some of the items on my November to-do list:

  • Walk a half-marathon. My time is running out to get this done in 2022, so I’m blocking a day over my Thanksgiving break long weekend to get this goal checked off my list for the year. I’m planning to watch a couple movies to keep me entertained while I walk for 3.5 to 4 hours.
  • Complete a day-long, self-designed yoga retreat. What better way to recover from a half-marathon than to follow it up with a day of gentle yoga and meditation? I’m hoping to also complete this annual goal over the Thanksgiving break weekend.
  • Read the Divergent quartet. Many of the books that I’ve chosen for my November reading fall into the young adult genre, but I’m especially excited to revisit this series since I haven’t read it in a while. (You can friend me on Goodreads or check out my YouTube channel to see the latest books on my to-read pile.)
  • Finish prepping all content through the end of 2022. I’d really like to get all the blog posts and podcast episodes that I plan to release through the end of 2022 prepped, edited, and scheduled by the end of this month. That will help me to end the year with a little more ease and margin as I start to look toward 2023.

Once again, this next month is looking pretty full! What are you looking forward to in the month of November?
