A good mantra goes a long way.
They work well for meditation, or just as reminders we can repeat to ourselves when we want to focus, or when life gets hard.
I frequently finding myself turning to mantras when I feel overwhelmed, stressed, or unmotivated. And, lately, I’ve also been hearing from some folks about difficult life changes and situations that are causing them to struggle in a range of ways.
No matter what challenges you may be dealing with, here are some mantras that might be helpful to get you through to the other side:
- One day at a time.
- Small changes lead to big results.
- Success is inevitable.
- I am capable.
- Time brings clarity.
- Leaps are necessary.
- I don’t have to understand (everything) / (now).
- Slow and steady.
- Do the next best thing.
- Challenges can teach.
- I welcome what the world wants me to learn.
- I can do hard things.
- I have choices.
- Time is abundant.
- Life is change.
- I’m okay.
And just in case you’re overwhelmed with a lot of good things right now, here is a favorite mantra for that as well:
Saying no to the good allows me to say yes to the really great.
If any of these mantras are a good fit for you, I recommend putting it in a place where you will see it often. (My favorite spots are my white boards and my planner.) I also frequently switch out mantras when I need a boost — and because life is always changing and throwing us new curve balls.
To think on:
- Which of these mantras works for you right now?
- What other mantras are your favorites?
